Park City Community Church plans a candlelight service for world peace on Sunday, Dec. 31, at 7 p.m. The service will include a prayer for all countries in the world and include reading the names of all 195 countries in existence today.
“As 2023 comes to a close and the door to a new year opens, Park City Community Church invites the community to join together for world peace,” says Rev. Elizabeth McVicker, pastor at Park City Community Church. “Even in the midst of deep division in the world, hope springs forth when we join together in community.”
The candlelight service will be held at Park City Community Church, at 4501 North Highway 224. The entrance to the parking lot is off of Bear Hollow Drive.
Refreshments will be served after the service. Children and adults of all faith traditions are invited to the time of music, prayer and candlelight.
Park City Community Church formed in 1919 when the Methodist and Congregationalists joined together and worshiped on Park Avenue. Their mission is to transform hope into action and isolation into authentic connection.
