I was sorry to see that the recreation bond was defeated in the election, as there has not been a bond supporting recreation for more than 20 years.
I and many of you have moved here because of the many athletic areas that this community has offered, including hiking, golf, biking, tennis, skiing and more recently, pickleball. Over the past 38 years, I have enjoyed these all.
I believe that many new residents moving to Park City from California have brought along their views that child care and low income housing should take precedent over recreation. We longtime Park City citizens don’t agree that our city needs to become a welfare city or state like California from where I moved.
Recreation amenities in Park City have been great in the past but now will remain behind the times, thanks to you who didn’t support the bond this week.
This is a good place to live and could have been advanced in recreation, but not for some time in the future.
