The Park City Police Department in late November received several complaints about parking problems, including one that reportedly left someone especially unhappy.
Parking issues are a common category of report to the agency throughout the year and the recent cases appeared to be similar to many in the past. The reports to the police, though, occurred in the period after the opening of the ski season. Parking complaints to the police typically increase during the ski season. It seems likely they will mount in coming weeks as crowds begin arriving for the holidays.
Some of the recent cases:
- On Saturday, Nov. 25, at 2:06 p.m., a police officer discovered a vehicle was left in a location in the area of Main Street and 4th Street where parking is prohibited and where it blocked a fire hydrant. The police said the vehicle also partially blocked access to Main Street from 4th Street. It appeared from public police logs the driver returned to the vehicle as a citation was being written.
- On Nov. 25 at 12:10 p.m., a vehicle was reportedly left in the road in Echo Spur. The vehicle was in a spot where it blocked driveways and hindered people from leaving, the police were told.
- On Friday, Nov. 24, at 7:38 p.m., a vehicle was reportedly left in a drop-and-load zone on Main Street without the proper permit. A ticket was issued. A similar case was reported 30 minutes earlier in the area of the later report
- On Monday, Nov. 20, at 2:05 p.m., the Police Department was told of 12 vehicles that were left on a street in the area of three houses that are under construction on American Saddler Drive. The person who contacted the police was “very angry about the situation,” according to department logs.
