Wasatch Fire District responded to a blaze consuming a barn under construction off the shore of the Jordanelle Reservoir at about 7 a.m. Friday morning.
Spokesperson Jason Provost said, “When we arrived, it was engulfed and crews are working on extinguishment still. We’ve got three engines and two trucks working.”
He added there haven’t been any known injuries, and an investigation is ongoing.
Tyler Aldous, the managing director at Skyridge Development, said later in the morning that the destroyed building was going to be a 40-stall horse barn, and the flames were under control.
“There are no animals on site and again, no members of our construction crew were injured,” he said. “While you may see potential flames inside the barn and smoke due to smoldering for some time, we are assured by fire department officials that the fire is contained.”
He offered his thanks to the Wasatch Fire District as well as the Park City Fire District and Wasatch County Sheriff for their quick response.
