Park City Shot Ski
The Park City Sunrise Rotary invites adults ages 21 and older to take a shot of whiskey and raise money for local organizations on Saturday, Oct. 21, on Main Street. The street will open at noon, and registrants need to be at their shot glasses at 1:30 p.m. The shot itself will take place at 2 p.m. The money raised will benefit the Park City Sunrise Rotary Club community grants programs. The club also plans to get 1,360 participants, which will break the record of 1,350, which was set in Breckenridge, Colorado, last year. For information, visit parkcityshotski.com.
An Evening with Pat Metheny
Multi Grammy Award-winning jazz guitarist Pat Metheny wraps up his Park City residency on Oct. 21 at the Egyptian Theatre, 328 Main St. The performances, which Metheny plays solo, are part of his “Dream Box” Tour. ‘It’s the Great Pumpkin’ Decorating Contest
The Summit County Library branches will host the “It’s the Great Pumpkin” decorating contest from Oct. 21-31. The rules are simple: no carving, entries must have a bookish theme and pumpkins can be dropped off at the Kimball Junction, Kamas Valley or Coalville branches before or by Oct. 31. Utah Humanities Book Festival at the Park City Library
The Utah Humanities Book Festival will present Karen Odden, the author of “Under a Veiled Moon (an Inspector Corravan Mystery),” at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 26, at the Park City Library, 1255 Park Ave. During the free event, which is open to the public, Odden will discuss the book that is available for check out.
