Wasatch County Council members are set to attend a 9 a.m. special meeting Thursday with the Military Installation Development Authority, the government entity helping to fund the Mayflower Mountain Resort project for portions of the development to be used as a morale, welfare and recreation facility for the Air Force.
Almost a month ago, it was announced that thousands of Mayflower acres are to become part of the Deer Valley Resort in an agreement between Alterra Mountain Company, which owns Deer Valley, and Extell Development Company, the corporation that owns the Mayflower project.
Despite the update, Wasatch County Manager Dustin Grabau doesn’t believe the local government will see many alterations in its previous agreements with MIDA.
“I don’t think this will result in large changes,” he told The Park Record. “If anything, it will be a refining of MIDA’s existing mission and objectives.”
The meeting will take place at the Hailstone Event Center.
