A 14-year-old boy was sent to the Utah Valley Hospital in critical but stable condition after being struck by a car at the intersection of 1200 South and 500 East in Heber City the morning of Sept. 14, the Heber City Police Department reported.
The boy was headed to school when “a work van, traveling eastbound on 1200 South failed to yield to the flashing caution lights and struck the juvenile in the crosswalk,” according to police. “The driver was charged with failure to yield to a pedestrian’s right of way in a school crosswalk.”
Heber Police Sgt. Joshua Weishar said Tuesday the department had not received any further updates on the condition of the pedestrian, and likely won’t unless that became relevant to the investigation.
