October 29, 1946 – June 22, 2023
Surrounded by family, Sharon Ann LaPine (née Swart), of Trinity, FL, lost a valiant battle against pancreatic cancer June 22, 2023, in Park City, UT at the age of 76. She was predeceased by her parents Pauline and Marvin Swart, and lost her husband, Armond LaPine in 2005. She leaves behind her daughter Lauren (Michael) Coleman, of Rochester, MI, and their children Alexander and Erin; and her son, Dr. Armond LaPine Jr. (Janet), of Park City, UT, and their children Sydney, Cutter, and Bridger. Also surviving are her beloved sisters, Mickie (Terry) Clements of Dade City, FL, Dale (John)Schmalzbauer, and Clara (John) Harrington, both of NewPort Richey, FL.
Sharon was born and raised in Amsterdam, NY, attended Wilbur H. Lynch High School, and graduated with a BA in German Education from Hartwick College. She returned to college in the 1970s to become a Registered Respiratory Therapist, and embarked on a career that took her from hospital shifts in Utica, NY, to retiring as the New Business Development Manager for Lincare in Clearwater, FL, in 2005.
Sharon was devoted to her family and spent most of the last 20+ years traveling to spend time with her children and grandchildren. She was an invaluable and constant source of support and encouragement for her sisters, children and grandchildren. She loved attending her grandchildren’s events, cheering them on and offering her observations afterwards. She enjoyed travel, reading, trivia contests, and a good board game. She loved to have a flower-filled yard, and volunteered her time as a Florida Eldercare Ombudsman and also recently served as a neighborhood HOA board president.
The family is planning a private interment in upstate New York. There is no doubt that this strong, intelligent, compassionate woman will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
