I’ve been riding for over 35 years, since I was a kid. I love bikes, I love the freedom, and I love the technology and physics of them. I have several bikes, all have bells that I use. Even the ten-grand mountain bike. I ding.
Last year, I bought an e-bike. I use it to go out to eat, run errands, and take bird photos. But it’s still a bike. It should be pedaled.
Parents, buy a throttle disconnect kit for your kid’s e-bike. And for your e-bike. There’s no way the kids can 3-up if the driver has to pedal. I think very few people actually need that throttle.
I’ve disconnected the throttle. I pedal all my bikes.
