The roof collapsed at a state liquor store in Prospector on Wednesday evening, the Park City Fire District said.
The fire district in an online posting said a water-flow alarm was triggered at approximately 7:15 p.m. at the Sidewinder Drive building. The firefighters found the roof had collapsed. The fire district indicated the amount of snow that had collected on the roof may have contributed to the collapse.
Nobody was inside at the time of the collapse.
The liquor store serves as a warehouse for licensed bars and restaurants rather than one that is open to the general public for regular alcohol purchases.
The state Department of Alcoholic Beverage Services on Thursday said officials are assessing the damage. The damage appears to be extensive and it was not immediately clear whether alcohol was destroyed in the collapse, the department said. A reopening date was not immediately set.
The Department of Alcoholic Beverage Services indicated licensees may order products through a licensee warehouse in Salt Lake City.
