Deer Valley Resort opened its slopes Saturday, and one organization used the opportunity to raise money for cancer research. Shred for Red, hosted by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, gave participants a scavenger hunt across the mountain, and gave teams the opportunity to ski with an Olympian. Brian Fletcher, two-time Nordic combined Olympic athlete and blood cancer survivor, partnered with the event and recruited other athletes to team up with participants.
