The Park City Police Department continued a busy stretch of the summer last week as large crowds descended on the city for the Park City Kimball Arts Festival, one of the largest events of the year.

Police officers handled numerous cases attributed to the large crowds, but there were not serious problems. Police Department logs show officers responded to suspected intoxication reports, disorderly conduct cases, parking problems and incidents similar in nature that are common when there are large crowds in the city.

Some of the cases included:

  • on Sunday, Aug. 8, a man, suspected to be intoxicated, was seen walking in the road at or close to the intersection of Deer Valley Drive and Aerie Drive at 4:48 a.m. The man might have been intoxicated, the police were told. The man was apparently wearing a black, sparkly shirt and a tiara, the police were told.
  • at 4:26 a.m., on Aug. 8, 20 people were seen in the street on Prospect Avenue. They seemed to be intoxicated and were loud, the police were told. The Police Department classified the case as disturbing the peace.
  • a suspected intoxication case somewhere along Sidewinder Drive at 4:07 a.m. Public police logs did not provide details.
  • on Saturday, Aug. 1 at 11:49 p.m., a person was reportedly seen with an open container of alcohol on the 400 block of Main Street.
