Starting early next month, Interstate 80 will be reduced from four lanes to two as the Utah Department of Transportation resumes construction from Wanship to the U.S. 40 interchange.
According to a UDOT press release, the final phase of construction to replace the asphalt with concrete pavement is scheduled to begin in early April. The first phase of the project shut down portions of the eastbound lanes in 2014.
Eastbound I-80 will be reduced to one lane in early April and later in the month, all westbound traffic will be shifted. According to the release, the westbound on and off ramps at Exit 150 for Tollgate and Promontory will be closed through the end of construction.
The release states that once the traffic shift takes place, the speed limit will be reduced to 45 miles per hour.
Construction is scheduled to last through the fall and will also include reconstruction of an I-80 bridge near milepost 153.
