Tour des Suds rescheduled

The Tour des Suds, originally scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 21, has been postponed due to rain until this Sunday, Sept. 28. The Mountain Trails Foundation event will follow the same schedule that was planned for Sept. 21. Visit www.mountaintrails.org for more information.

Nordic Ski Swap at UOP

The Park City Nordic Ski Club will host its annual Nordic Ski Swap at the Utah Olympic Park on Saturday, Sept. 27, from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. The event will take place on the first floor of the Legacy Center. No alpine or snowboard gear will be sold, only Nordic. No vendors are allowed, only individuals. Some coaches will be on-site to help with gear selection. PCNSC and UOP will not take any commission on sales. Please bring cash and check.

PC Miners Youth Competitive Basketball

Does your son love to play basketball? Is he ready to take his game to the next level and dedicate himself to a competitive team? If so, he should consider trying out for the Miners. Open tryouts for the upcoming season will be held at Park City High School on Oct. 13, 14 and 15. Third and fourth graders will try out at 5:30 p.m., fifth and sixth graders at 6:30 p.m. and seventh and eighth graders at 7:30 p.m. Please plan on attending all three days of tryouts. Indoor Coed Volleyball

PC Recreation offers a 6v6 Coed Volleyball league at the PC MARC for players 18 and older on Wednesday evenings from 6-10 p.m. The league offers a recreational and power division, and is played from Oct. 15 to Dec. 17. Hi-Ute Celebration

Join Basin Recreation’s Hi-Ute Celebration on Saturday, Oct. 11, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for a special one-time peek at the beautiful property. Fall Break Camp

The kids are ready for fall break and so is Basin Recreation! Join us for Fall Break Camp on Oct. 16 and 17 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at The Fieldhouse. Kids Night at the Movies means a parents’ night out! Upcoming PC Sport & Wellness Coalition Presentations

The Park City Sport & Wellness Coalition will host a series of presentations over the next couple months. On Oct. 8, at the PCHS auditorium, Olympic medalist and orthopedic surgeon Eric Heiden and a team of experts will give a talk about ACL injuries and prevention, beginning at 6:30 p.m. On Nov. 13, Alexander Cohen, the senior sports psychologist for the USOC, will talk about the fundamentals of sport psychology. On Nov. 20, Finn Gundersen will give a talk on coach education. Also, on Dec. 3, the PC Sport & Wellness Coalition will sponsor a Harvard Speaker Series event featuring Cornelia Holden of Mindful Warrior, a team-based leadership training program for competitive athletes.

There’s Nothing Free About Freestyle

Bobby Carroll is gearing up for the first annual There’s Nothing Free About Freestyle ski fundraiser to be held Tuesday, Oct. 7, from 6-9 p.m. at the Wasatch Brew Pub. It will be an evening of mingling and fun, appetizers and live music, with a silent auction, door prizes and live raffles. Admission is only $10 per person at the door. Adult Flag Football

Mommy and Me Tennis

PC Tennis invites moms and their children to learn hand-eye coordination, motor skills and more as PC Tennis pros will show them how to teach their children tennis basics in a fun and organized environment. Soldier Hollow Trail Running Series

Soldier Hollow has a new trail-running series that started on Tuesday, Sept. 9. The series will run every Tuesday from Sept. 9 until Oct. 28. Starting at 5 p.m., there will be a free one- or two-kilometer kids’ race for runners under the age of 14. At 5:30 p.m., there will be a 5K and a 10K race for adults. Games will be scheduled between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. Soccer/tennis incorporates aspects of both soccer and tennis. Each tournament will include 2v2 pool play in a single-elimination bracket. Park City Fencing Academy Classes

The Park City Fencing Academy is holding classes at the PC MARC. Classes will be for ages 6 to adult and run Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:45 to 5:30 p.m. beginning Sept. 2. The cost is $85 a month. If you miss a few classes you will be given a private catch-up lesson. Classes include basic footwork, blade drills, offensive and defensive actions, as well as actual fencing with electric scoring machines. Open fencing from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m. after class is also included for those who want to stay and practice. The academy provides all equipment necessary for the September class.
