Hope Alliance’s The Haiti Project Art Auction

The Hope Alliance-Haiti will present its bi-annual Haiti Project Art Auction at the Kimball Art Center, 638 Park Ave., on Saturday, Sept. 27, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. The event will feature a silent and live auction of paintings, jewelry and sculptures created by Haitian girls between the ages of 3 and 15. The girls live in the Camatin Orphanage, which is stewarded by Hope Alliance-Haiti. All the proceeds from the event will benefit the orphanage and fund other sustainable projects in the area. Open Barn Days at Blue Moon Alpaca Ranch

Blue Moon Alpaca Ranch, 3535 S. 1000 East in Woodland, will present its annual fall open barn days on Saturday, Sept. 27, and Sunday, Sept. 28, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. The working alpaca ranch will offer spun alpaca yarns, knitted goods, homemade soaps and alpacas. Moose in Utah at the Swaner EcoCenter Dr. Dan MacNulty, assistant professor of wildlife ecology at Utah State University, will speak about his research studying the population ecology of moose in northern Utah at the Swaner EcoCenter, 1258 Center Dr. at Kimball Junction, on Tuesday, Sept. 30, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Preceeding Dr. MacNulty, Wild Aware Utah, a local collaborative educational program whose mission is to minimize human-wildlife conflicts, will briefly present safety information related to encountering moose.
