Summer Skate Series
Park City Recreation presents Utah’s premier skate competition series at the Park City Skate Park. The last event of the series will be held Saturday, Aug. 24, at 11 a.m. Six divisions cater to all levels of skaters, and there are great prizes. Free Lunchtime Learning
Certified health coach Lisa Fountain will lead a discussion about “The Sugar Blues” on Wednesday, Aug. 14, noon to 1 p.m. at the PC MARC. While excess sugar is the leading cause of many ailments, it is also an important part of our diets. Basin Rec Flag Football
It’s time to sign up for Basin Recreation’s NFL Flag Football. Games and practices will be held at the Fieldhouse from Aug. 26 through Oct. 18 starting with player evaluations. Fall Soccer
Fall is fast approaching, so it’s time to sign up for Basin Recreation Fall Soccer. Boys’ and girls’ teams, grades Kindergarten through 9, will practice and play games twice a week from Aug. 19 to Oct. 12. Preschoolers will practice and play games once a week. Swing for Sports
Join Basin Recreation for the first Swing for Sports golf tournament on Saturday, Sept. 7 at Park City Golf Course. Four-person teams will play in a scramble format with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Enjoy sports-themed hole challenges with prizes along the course. All proceeds will help underprivileged youth in our community stay active in sports programs at an affordable cost through our scholarship program. Basin Rec Guided Hike
Explore Basin Recreation’s vast trail system with a free guided hike. Hikes last an hour and a half to two hours. The trails staff picks a different trail every few weeks during the summer. Girls’ Water Ramp Camp
Calling all girls! Come to Axis Freeskiing’s All Girls Water Ramp Camp and spend two fun-filled days with women coaches from Axis Freeskiing at the Utah Olympic Park. Jump on the trampolines and ski into the pool learning new tricks and perfecting old ones. There will be additional fun activities and a video of the camp experience at the end. The camp is for ages 7 and up and caters to both beginner and advanced skiing levels. The second session will run Aug. 15-16. Registration costs $95. Adult Learn to Play

Paddleboard Fitness and Yoga Classes
Park City Standup Paddleboarding offers on-the-water yoga classes every Wednesday and Friday at 10 a.m. PC SUP also offers paddleboard fitness classes on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 10 a.m. The classes cost $20 each and include a board rental. Mountain Trails Foundation Needs Volunteers
The Mountain Trails Foundation needs volunteers for several upcoming events, including the Park City Marathon on Aug. 17, the Mid Mountain Marathon on Sept. 7 and the Tour des Suds on Sept. 15. The most pressing need is for aid stations and course marshals at the Park City Marathon. This event is a huge fundraiser for the trail system and will have about 2,000 athlete-participants. Skateboard Camp at Park City Skate Park
Park City Recreation has the area’s best skaters teaching children to skate this summer. Helmets and pads are required with equipment available upon request. Weekly morning sessions (Monday through Thursday) are available through Aug. 15 with classes for all levels including beginners-only. Private and semi-private lessons are also available. Summer Swim Lessons

Pickleball at the PC MARC
One of the fastest-growing sports in America, Pickleball is now offered at the PC MARC. This fun sport has simple rules and lots of action. Racquet-sport enthusiasts and newcomers are welcome to play on the MARC’s three indoor Pickleball courts Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m. to noon. Fee is $3 per player. Learn to Swim at Silver Mountain
Youth swim lessons at Silver Mountain Sports Club are offered throughout the summer. There are eight half-hour lessons in each session, with one instructor for every four children. Couples League at PC Golf Club
The Couples League, for beginning to advanced golfers, is new for 2013 at the Park City Golf Club. Handicaps are not used and you do not have to be a member of the USGA. Summer Junior Tennis Camp
Summer camps at the PC MARC have begun for beginner and intermediate players ages 7 to 14. Aquafit at the PC MARC
Instructors at the PC MARC will offer a great cardio and water resistance-based workout at the PC MARC leisure pool. Park City Recreation’s professional staff will guide your child age six to 12 through exciting summer days filled with sports, games, arts and crafts and field trips. Park City Recreation will hold youth and adult dirt-jump camps and clinics throughout the summer at the Park City Dirt-Jump Park.
