Police reports involving animals, either pets or wildlife, are mounting in Park City as the Police Department received another series of complaints last week.

The calls last week continue a stretch of reports that have been logged this summer. Some of the reports have been filed by people worried about dogs being left inside vehicles while others have involved wild animals.

The reports last week included:

  • on Friday, July 26, a dog was reported to be locked in a vehicle on the 2200 block of Deer Valley Drive at 3:33 p.m.
  • on Wednesday, July 24 at 3:26 p.m., the police received a report of someone shooting squirrels in a backyard along Twilight Court.
  • on July 24, a dead fox was found in the road along S.R. 224 at 5:40 a.m. A police officer moved the carcass off the road.
  • on Tuesday, July 23, a family of ducks was reported to be in the road at 9:04 a.m. at or close to the intersection of Kearns Boulevard and Wyatt Earp Way.
  • on July 23 at 4:51 a.m., a deer was reported to have been hit by a driver along Park Avenue. The animal was injured, the police were told.
  • on Monday, July 22, at 9:24 p.m., a moose was seen in the road along the 2900 block of Estates Drive. People were reportedly following the animal.
  • on July 22 at 5:36 p.m., a dog was seen in a vehicle panting and yelping along the 1800 block of Bonanza Drive. The windows were slightly open, the police were told.
  • on Monday, July 22, a driver hit a deer at 5:41 a.m. at the intersection of Marsac Avenue and Guardsman Connection. The person was fine, but public police logs did not provide information about the deer.
