Sundance Mountain Resort plethora of Best State Awards
Sundance Mountain Resort received the Best of State award for Best Vacation resort earlier this week. According to a press release, this is the third time that the resort has been awarded this honor by the Best of State. Sundance also received awards for Casual Dining, Best American Continental Cuisine for Zoom, and Best Artisan Restaurant for the Tree Room.
Best of State gives recognition yearly to outstanding individuals, organizations and businesses by more than 100 judges who review the nominations achievements and practices throughout the year.
‘Grandparent Scam’
The Utah Division of Consumer Protection is warning the public that “grandparent scams” where callers try to trick senior citizens into believing a loved one is in trouble in a foreign country and needs money sent to them immediately via Western Union is still targeting Utah families, according to Francine Giani, Executive Director of the Utah Department of Commerce, in a press release.
Utahns are urged to hang up on such callers, contact their families to verify the information and report any suspicious calls to their local police department as well as the Utah Division of Consumer Protection.
‘Hiring Our Heroes’ job fair for Veterans
A ‘Hiring Our Heroes’ job fair will be held April 17 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Salt Palace Convention Center.
The fair is one of a series of events geared towards assisting veterans, active-duty military, members of the National Guard and Reserve and military spouses to obtain employment or upgrade their current job situation.
At 10 a.m. the day of the event, a resume-writing and interviewing workshop will be provided. Veteran-benefits providers will also be on hand to offer assistance and answer questions.
The Salt Palace Convention Center is located at 100 S. West Temple in Salt Lake City.
