People continued to spot moose in or close to Park City neighborhoods last week as the animals descended from the higher elevations in search of food.

Some of the sightings reported last week included:

  • On Sunday, Oct. 23 at 9:36 a.m., a calf was seen in a driveway on the 500 block of Deer Valley Drive. The moose then ambled away on Deer Valley Drive, the police were told. The person who contacted the police was concerned for the animal.
  • A moose was seen at 10:56 p.m. along the 600 block of Deer Valley Loop on Saturday, Oct. 22. The moose was reportedly in the road, but it was gone by the time the police arrived.
  • On Thursday, Oct. 20, three moose were spied on the 1000 block of Lowell Avenue at 4:30 p.m. The animals were not causing problems, the police were told.
  • On Wednesday, Oct. 19 at 7:51 a.m., a cow moose and two calves were seen on Woodside Avenue. Public police logs did not list the animals’ location on Woodside Avenue.

    The reports last week came in the days after a series of earlier sightings. In the week before, at least five sightings were reported to the police. The moose were seen on or close to streets like Park Avenue and Woodside Avenue.

    At one point earlier on October, a cow and two calves spent a significant amount of time in Coalition Park, which is situated close to the bottom of Main Street and just off Park Avenue.
