After years of working for other people, Parkites Mark Elliott and Carol Grove teamed up last spring to go into business for themselves.
Grove has more than six years of property management experience in Park City. Prior to that, she worked even longer in different facets of the real estate industry.
Most recently, Elliott worked in property maintenance. He also has several years of experience in construction management and real estate development.
“We met up, and with our backgrounds, we realized we were a great fit for a Park City property management business,” Elliott said. “We like to interact with folks. We’re both very social.”
At different times property management in Summit County has been a crowded field. Grove said it’s always a great industry to be in regardless of the amount of competition. If someone knows their business, they can always find clients, she said.
“It’s about customer service,” she said. “We custom fit our management to meet our clients’ needs. Not everyone is charged the same.”
For Elliott, the secret is giving every client the attention they deserve.
“We get out there and hustle,” he said. “Our clients are extremely happy with us and our services.
Those services range from the office side for homeowners associations, to vehicle maintenance for private accounts.
Luxury Property Maintenance can handle all of an association’s financial and administrative duties, Grove said.
She will process the billing and receiving of dues, handle the association’s banking, collect bids for services and manage the budget.
Elliott oversees the bidding of capital improvement projects, the actual work and property checks. The company also handles hot tub service.
Luxury Property Management also offers concierge services. They can arrange for someone to pick up and drop off clients to the airport, stock refrigerators, light fireplaces and turn up the heat, run errands, make dinner reservations and handle everything necessary for homeowners to enjoy their stay.
Elliott will even oversee the maintenance and registration of any vehicles associated with a property.
Because both have been in property management and related industries so long, they say they know a lot of people in town and work well with contractors and other firms to solve emergencies.
That experience has also made them experts in pet peeves people have with property managers, Grove said.
For example, if work needs to be done, she will notify owners of what happened, what she’s doing to find the best price and what resolution she’s proposing.
“People aren’t enthused about paying bills for services they didn’t approve of,” she said.
Elliott and Grove are available 24-hours-a-day in case of emergencies.
“We give clients our full, hands-on service. You’re not just another number,” he said.
It really comes down to Luxury Property Management treating homeowners and their associations the way they would want to be treated, Grove said.
