The Park City Police Department last week received at least two complaints of bicycles being stolen within a few days of each other.
In one of the cases, a mountain bike manufactured by Scott was reportedly taken from outside a restaurant on the 1800 block of Bonanza Drive. Public police logs did not provide details such as the value of the bicycle or any identifying characteristics.
The person who reported the case is from Boulder, Colo., the police said. The Police Department received the call at 2:20 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 7.
In the other case, reported on Saturday, Sept. 10, a bicycle made by Specialized was reportedly taken from behind a hotel. The case was reported at 6:01 p.m. on the 2000 block of Park Avenue. The bicycle was taken the previous night, the police were told. It is black and orange in color. Public police logs did not list a value.
The Police Department occasionally receives reports of bicycle thefts. In some cases, the dollar value of the loss exceeds $1,000 given the popularity of high-end bicycles in Park City.
