The Park City Police Department last week received at least four reports of vehicles being broken into or people trying to get inside a vehicle, with the cases being spread through much of the city.

The cases included:

  • On Saturday, Aug. 6, the Police Department received a complaint from someone on Doc Holliday Drive at 9:08 a.m., when the person found that a sport utility vehicle parked in the driveway might have been broken into. A front door on the vehicle was open, and a wedding ring and golf clubs were missing, the police were told.
  • On Aug. 6 at 6:40 a.m., a man was reportedly seen trying to break into a vehicle on the 1600 block of Park Avenue. The person was a white man with brown hair. He was wearing a plaid shirt and appeared to be between 25 and 30 years old, the police were told.
  • On Aug. 6 at 6:17 a.m., the police received a complaint that a vehicle had been broken into on Payday Drive. A window had been broken and a backpack was missing from inside, the police were told. A computer was inside the backpack. The police were told the lost property was valued at $1,500.
  • On Thursday, Aug. 4, at 12:26 p.m., a vehicle break-in was reported off S.R. 224 close to the trailhead to the trail on the grounds of the McPolin Farm. A woman told the police she went on a run and found a window broken out on her vehicle when she returned. A purse was taken. The woman told the police she was gone for approximately 50 minutes.
