A woman fell off a lift at Park City Mountain Resort on the day after Christmas, the Park City Fire District said, indicating that she was taken to a hospital afterward.
Bob Zanetti, the interim fire chief, said a crew was summoned to a medical clinic at the base of PCMR at 4 p.m. on Dec. 26. The woman was suffering neck and back pain, Zanetti said.
The fire district took her in an ambulance to a hospital in Murray, Zanetti said. It appeared she fell approximately 10 feet from the lift, according to Zanetti. She is 54 years old. Other information about the woman was not available.
Krista Parry, a spokesperson for PCMR, said the woman was on the First Time lift when she fell. Beginner skiers and snowboarders frequently use the First Time lift, which is situated at the lower elevations of PCMR, close to some of the resort’s parking lots.
PCMR is investigating the fall, Parry said.
It is rare for someone to fall off a lift while it is en route. Falls by people boarding a lift or disembarking from one are more common.
