Park City held an evacuation drill at the Marsac Building on Tuesday afternoon, part of an ongoing effort to train staffers how to respond to an emergency.
Hugh Daniels, the manager of City Hall’s emergency programs, estimates more than 50 people were inside the building at the time of the 2 p.m. drill. He says the building was successfully evacuated and the operation was orderly.
"It went well. You measure it by how quickly people get out of the building" and the time it takes them to assemble outside, Daniels says.
Daniels planned to conduct evacuation drills in each of the nine occupied municipal buildings by the end of the week. Drills had already been conducted in buildings like the Police Department and the Park City Ice Arena by the time of the Marsac Building exercise.
