Calling all poets, slammers and lyricists interested in hearing the verse and voices of the creative spirit: Would you like a place to share your poetic endeavors? Do you have an appreciation for the genre of poetry? Do you want to connect on a creative level?
Join poet Lucinda Sands for a free poetry workshop/open mic event on Thursday, April 29, at 6 p.m. at the Kimball Art Center. Please bring one or two poems to share in a round table critique. Listen to poetry in all forms including free verse, lyrics, slam, and prose at the Alpine Internet Café’s Open Mic Night immediately following the workshop at 7 p.m.
Sands’s poetry and short fiction has appeared in "Poeticas, Long River Run II," and "The Whatever Journal," as well as local Connecticut publications. She is a member of the Connecticut Poetry Society and a supporter of the American Poetry Foundation, The Academy of American Poets, and Poets House in New York City. Her periodic publication entitled "The Imprint Journal of Poetry and Visual Art" is due out in January 2011.
