At least three pieces of graffiti art have appeared in Park City in recent days, but it was not immediately clear whether a famous artist rumored to be featured in a Sundance Film Festival documentary is responsible for the pieces.
Jon Weidenhamer, a City Hall staffer who is looking into the graffiti, said the pieces were discovered on the Cows building on Main Street, a power box at the Gateway Center in Old Town and on a barn off S.R. 224.
"Obviously we’re not condoning tagging public or private property in town," Weidenhamer said.
City Hall received the reports on Tuesday, he said. Officials typically attempt to remove graffiti on public property within 72 hours of it being discovered.
Some people suspect the graffiti is the work of a well-known artist named Banksy. There is online chatter that a film featuring Banksy might screen during Sundance.
