Senior citizens in Summit County are collecting clean, gently used coats as part of the One Warm Coat day of service to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
“The need has never been greater and it’s never been easier to make a difference in your community,” Susan Ovard, a Summit County employee, said in a prepared statement. “Here is your opportunity to make sure that nobody goes without such a basic necessity as a coat this winter.”
All sizes of coats are welcome, she said.
The One Warm Coat project distributes free reusable coats to locals.
“The program is an easy way for you and your family to pass along coats and jackets that you no longer need,” Ovard said.
From Jan. 11-15 coats will be collected at these locations: Summit County Courthouse, 60 N. Main, Coalville; Summit County Library, 6505 N. Landmark Drive, Kimball Junction; Summit County Library, 110 N. Main Street, Kamas; Wednesday and Friday at North Summit Senior Center, 150 E. Park Road, Coalville; Monday and Thursday at South Summit Senior Center, 34 E. 400 South, Kamas; Monday and Thursday at Park City Senior Center, 1361 Norfolk Avenue, Park City
