The City Hall candidates are slated to address the Main Street merchants during a forum on Tuesday, likely an important chance for the people vying for the mayor’s office and two City Council seats to outline their economic platforms.
The Main Street Business Alliance is hosting the forum, which is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at the Kimball Art Center.
The business alliance has set aside time for the candidates to outline their platform and answer questions from the audience.
Many businesspeople on Main Street do not live within the Park City limits and cannot vote in the election. There are numerous City Hall decisions, though, that have wide-ranging effects on the street.
The business alliance closely monitors City Hall policies like parking regulations and has pressed for funding assistance in an effort to keep Main Street competitive with other shopping, dining and entertainment districts.
Mayor Dana Williams is facing challenger Brad Olch on Election Day. Four candidates — Mark Blue, Alex Butwinski, Cindy Matsumoto and John Stafsholt — are competing for two positions on the City Council.
