A developer at The Colony has pleaded guilty in Southern California to three felonies related to sexual abuse of a boy 14 or 15 years old, a spokesman for the district attorney in San Diego County said.
Keith Kelley, who is in his late 60s, pleaded guilty Nov. 13, spokesman Steve Walker said.
“He was originally charged with seven felony counts,” Walker said in a telephone interview. “He pled guilty to three of them in the deal.”
Kelley is scheduled for sentencing in San Diego Feb. 24 at 1:30 p.m.
Kelley could serve up to three years in prison for
each count, Walker explained.
Kelley became a fugitive from justice when he was charged in San Diego Superior Court in June. Last summer he returned to California after the U.S. Marshals Service nabbed Kelley in western Summit County.
Kelley has not returned telephone calls placed to his Snyderville Basin home.
Crimes to which Kelley pleaded guilty happened in 1988, Walker explained.
Recently Kelley was employed as vice president of the Iron Mountain Associates development firm, which built The Colony, a gated subdivision situated near slopes at The Canyons.
An attorney for Iron Mountain could not be reached in Salt Lake City for comment. A call to Kelley’s defense attorney in San Diego was not returned before press time.
