Adopt-A-Native Elder is looking for volunteers to pack boxes and help deliver relief supplies to families on the Navajo Reservation in Southern Utah and Northern Arizona.
The organization, a nonprofit supporting traditional Navajo elders living on the reservation, needs people to help pack boxes of food and medicine Saturdays, April 8 and 15 between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. at the Adopt-A-Native Elder warehouse at 328 W. Gregson Avenue, 3085 South, in Salt Lake City. The organization also needs volunteers with trucks or SUVs to drive the supplies down to the reservation in late April and early May.

Wasatch Back offers opportunity for student artists
Each Spring, the Kimball Art Center gives young artists a chance to show their best when the organization presents the Wasatch Back Student Art Show. Featuring works from Summit and Wasatch county artists in kindergarten through 12th grade, this year the show will run from April 29 through May 29, including an opening reception on Saturday, April 29 from 1-3 p.m. at the art center.
Students may each submit one entry to the show. Each entry must be an original two- or three-dimensional work created during the 2005-2006 school year and may not have been previously shown at the Kimball. There is a $1 entry fee for each work.
All pieces will be shown, space permitting, at the art center. Artwork will be accepted Friday though Sunday, April 21-23 from noon to 5 p.m. at the art center. All pieces must be framed and wired for hanging and everything must be dry, assembled and ready for exhibition. Artwork must be picked up on Tuesday, May 30 between noon and 5 p.m.
