Robert Roland Jones, 62, of Heber City, passed away Friday, Feb. 17, 2006, in American Fork, surrounded by family and friends.
He was born Oct. 3, 1943, in Heber, to Lester Marvin and LaVon Howe Jones. Bob was a very special child of our Heavenly Father. From a young age, Bob was called to endure many trials and tests, which he did well and bravely, always with a smile on his face.
Bob’s smile was legendary; he had one for everyone. He loved a good joke, both telling and hearing, and he told great stories. Bob was also just a little mischievous, but always in good fun.
Bob worked hard all his life. He grew up working on his parent’s dairy farm, learning the value of hard work, and a job well done. He worked just as hard in his adult life to be able to support himself, and achieve independence.
Bob loved and was very proud of his family. He has many nieces and nephews, and quite a few great-nieces and nephews. He cared about every one of them, and was always concerned for their welfare. He loved his parents and siblings dearly, and they him. He loved his friends, and supported and cared for them in any way he could. No one had a bigger heart or more caring nature than Bob.
Bob will be missed by many, but we do not mourn. We know Bob was met on the other side by many loved ones happy and excited to see him again. We know he is whole, and we know he is home. We love you, Bob.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lester and LaVon, and brother, Marvin. Bob is survived by his sisters: Marion Collard, Midvale; Beth (Doug) Murphy, Vernal; Karen (Steve) Ridge, Lehi; and Jeanette (Marvin) Jones, St. Louis, Mo.; and their families.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2006 at Olpin-Hoopes Funeral Home in Heber City. Interment was in Heber City Cemetery.
