Park City firefighters had to extricate a woman from her Jeep Cherokee Thursday afternoon following a rollover crash on U.S. 40 between Quinn’s Junction and Jordanelle Reservoir.
A Fire District medical crew initially worked to stabilize the woman while she stayed inside the vehicle. The Jeep, which was traveling eastbound, rolled off the right side of the highway which was closed so a medical helicopter could land. Paramedics were able to remove the driver’s door to obtain access to the patient. She was flown via helicopter for treatment to University of Utah Health Sciences Center.
Firefighters did not release the woman’s name, age, or hometown on Friday, but Fire District spokeswoman Tricia Hurd said her injuries were not life threatening.
An engine, two fire trucks and two ambulances responded to the scene around 4:45 p.m. and the woman was transported around 5:16 p.m.
"The road probably opened up within a few minutes after that," Hurd said.
