Park City High School students and teachers have been working long and hard to combine their talents in singing, dancing, acting, stage technologies and instrumental music to produce the entertaining Gershwin musical, "Crazy for You." This show benefits from the guidance of many dedicated teachers; Kyle Lewis (drama), Ciara Murano-Steele (dance), Derek Furch (choir), Dave Hallock (stage tech), Chris Taylor (band), and Dennis Harrington (orchestra). Drama teacher Kyle Lewis explains, " Crazy for You’ is the story of Bobby Child [played by Paul Madsen] whose dream in life is to dance. Despite the serious efforts of his mother [played by Catie Scopes] and soon-to-be-ex-fianc [played by Christina Crowder], Bobby achieves his dream." Katie Bowser is the cowgirl with whom Bobby falls in love, and Kevin Thompson plays the man who is already in love with her. The musical also includes talented performances by Hunter Brown as Bella Zangler, a famous producer who is crazy for Tess, the disinterested choreographer played by Lauren Stanek. Breanne Briggs provides a humorous light as Patsy, the ditsy showgirl, and a British accent is added by actresses like Nicole Roth as visiting writers. The colorful cast is rounded out by Ashley Bush, Chase Thomas, Josh Brothers, Andrew Crandall, and Chris Koenig as lazy small-town residents and many others who contribute to the performance. "It’s a high-energy comedy which includes mistaken identity, plot twists, fabulous dance numbers and classic Gershwin music. Park City High School is excited to be bringing this new Gershwin musical to the stage of the Eccles Center," Lewis exclaims. The curtain will rise on "Crazy for You" at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 10, Friday, Saturday, and Monday.Tickets will be available at the door for $6 for students, $7 for adults.
