Members of Student Council at Treasure Mountain International School will be raising money for the Red Cross on Saturday. Student Council members are selling red plastic bracelets, like the Lance Armstrong Live Strong ones, on behalf for Hurricane Katrina relief. It helps those that are less fortunate than ourselves, said Kevin McIntosh, the Treasure Mountain teacher who advises the Student Council along with Marcie Dart. It does something that gets them out of themselves and the community. And it s the right thing to do. Student body President Dolly Duke came up with the idea, and the council has sold the bracelets during lunch and at Treasure Mountain s dance last week. We still have quite a few more to sell, if we sell all of the ones we have, over $600 will go to the Red Cross relief effort for Hurricane Katrina, McIntosh said. The Student Council will sell the bracelets for $2 in front of the Smith s at Kimball Junction from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
