In Park City, we don’t just move houses; we move lifestyles. Whether you’re trading a historic Old Town cottage for a sprawling estate in Promontory, or preparing your mountain retreat for a seasonal transition, moving can feel like a steep climb up the Town Lift. Between mountain logistics and the demands of a high-altitude lifestyle, a “standard” move simply doesn’t cut it here.

At NEAT Method Park City, we’ve spent years mastering the white-glove transition — because moving shouldn’t just be about transporting boxes. It should be about arriving well. Here are our expert tips for making your next move truly “NEAT.”

极速168赛车官方网站图片

1. The “Edit” is Your First Ascent

The biggest mistake homeowners make is moving items they no longer need. Before a single roll of tape touches a box, you must edit. Park City living involves specialized gear: technical shells, heavy-duty snow blowers, and mountain bikes. If you haven’t hit the slopes in two seasons or that spare guest room “mountain-chic” decor no longer fits your evolving aesthetic, don’t pay to move it.

Every item you let go of is one less thing to pack, transport, and find space for in your new home. For our local clients, we recommend a three-stream approach: Keep, Donate, and Consign. Our community is home to wonderful local charities and high-end consignment shops that ensure your well-loved items find a second life in the Wasatch Back.

2. Respect the Mountain Timeline

In many cities, you can move any day of the year. In Park City, Mother Nature has the final say. If you are moving during “Mud Season” or the height of winter, logistics become significantly more complex. Steep, winding driveways and sudden snowstorms can turn a six-hour move into a two-day ordeal.

Plan your move with a “weather buffer.” If you are moving in January, ensure your driveway and walkways are professionally cleared and salted 24 hours before the trucks arrive. Conversely, if you are moving in the heat of July, be strategic about your seasonal gear. Don’t let your heavy parkas and ski boots occupy the “prime real estate” of your new closets. Instead, box them clearly as “Off-Season” and transition them directly into long-term storage or the back of the mudroom. This keeps your new home feeling airy and appropriate for the current season, rather than cluttered with gear you won’t need for months.

3. Categorize by “Zone,” Not Just Room

极速168赛车官方网站图片

Traditional moving advice tells you to label boxes by room. We take it a step further: organize by zone. This is the secret sauce to a functional home. Instead of ten giant “Kitchen” boxes, label them by specific utility: “Coffee Station,” “Baking Zone,” “Everyday Dinnerware,” or “Barware.”

When you arrive at your new home, these boxes can be placed exactly where they will live. This transforms the unpacking process from a chaotic scavenger hunt into a strategic setup. You’ll thank yourself when, on your first morning in the new house, you know exactly which box holds the espresso machine and the mugs.

4. The “First Night” Essentials Kit

There is nothing more draining than arriving at your beautiful new home and realizing you can’t find the coffee filters, a roll of toilet paper, or your phone charger. Pack a clearly marked Essentials Box (or a dedicated suitcase) that travels in your car, not the moving truck.

The Essentials: Basic toiletries, chargers, bed linens, a small toolkit, pet food, and—this is Park City, after all—your favorite bottle of High West or a local vintage to celebrate the successful move.

极速168赛车官方网站图片

5. Invest in Sustainable Systems Early

A move is the perfect “clean slate.” Rather than cramming items into your new pantry and promising to “fix it later,” plan your organizational systems before you move in. Measure your new drawers, closets, and pantry shelves. Investing in high-quality, sustainable bins and dividers from the start ensures that your new home remains as pristine as a fresh layer of powder. When everything has a designated home from Day One, “clutter creep” never has a chance to start.

6. The Psychological Shift: Unpack the Heart of the Home

At NEAT Method, we always prioritize the kitchen and the primary closet first. Why? Because these are the spaces that ground you. Being able to prepare a meal and get dressed without digging through boxes makes your new house feel like home faster. Don’t let the garage or the guest rooms distract you; focus on the high-traffic areas that fuel your daily routine.

7. Don’t Do It Alone

Moving is statistically one of life’s most significant stressors, but it doesn’t have to be. At NEAT Method, we specialize in full-service Move Management. This means we handle everything from the initial decluttering and space planning to getting every item in its final place.

Our goal is to ensure that when you walk through your new front door, the beds are made, the pantry is stocked with your favorite local snacks, and you can immediately head out to enjoy the trails. A move in Park City should feel like a fresh start, not a burden. By editing with intention and organizing with strategy, you can turn moving day into a true “sense of arrival.”

Wasatch County Parks & Recreation will once again host an in-person ticket sale for its highly anticipated summer events, giving local residents a fair and secure way to purchase tickets while reducing the impact of third-party resellers. After seeing success with the sale last year, the department is continuing the in-person sale to help prevent scammers from purchasing tickets and reselling them at inflated prices. By requiring attendees to purchase tickets face-to-face, the goal is to keep tickets accessible and affordable for the community. The in-person sale will take place at the Wasatch County Recreation Center, where community members are welcome to line up inside the facility ahead of sales.

极速168赛车官方网站图片

Ticket sales will begin on Friday, June 12 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and will continue on Saturday, June 13 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., or until tickets sell out. To ensure fairness, purchase limits will be enforced. Each individual may buy up to 15 tickets per event, which can be distributed across any of the three days of that event. All purchasers must be 16 years or older and will be required to present a valid ID along with a matching credit card at the time of purchase.

极速168赛车官方网站图片

Any remaining tickets following the in-person sale will be made available online beginning Monday, June 15 at 9:00 a.m. This year’s Fair Days, themed “Timeless Traditions,” will bring the community together with vibrant nightly themes, coordinated colors, and can’t-miss experiences that celebrate the heritage of Wasatch County. From competitions to community events, many registrations are now open for those looking to be part of the fair days heritage of Wasatch County. For the full schedule, event details, and registration information, visit the Wasatch County Parks & Recreation website. Wasatch County Parks & Recreation encourages those interested to plan ahead and arrive early, as demand for tickets is expected to be high again this year!

Park City isn’t a single place. It’s a collection of alpine worlds layered within the same mountain town, each with its own rhythm, access, and draw. Knowing which fits your vision as a homeowner makes all the difference in the world. Will you be arriving for a week of powder days, or are you considering placing a luxury home on a professionally managed rental program?

Natural Retreats has spent years managing properties in Park City’s most sought-after communities. And this magical realm is our home. Here’s a look at where we operate and what makes each community exceptional.

极速168赛车官方网站图片

Old Town & Main Street: The Heartbeat of Park City

For homeowners, Old Town remains one of the most consistently in-demand rental markets in Utah, driven by walkability, event proximity, and the year-round appeal of signature events such as the Kimball Arts Festival in August.

Main Street is arguably the most stunning corridor in the Wasatch Range, lined with restaurants, boutiques, art galleries, and a nightlife scene that outdoes itself. From here, you can walk to the Town Lift for direct access to Park City Mountain Resort or hop on the free city bus to Deer Valley, Kimball Junction—or anywhere in between.

Silver Star: Your Own Mountain Village

Of all the communities in Park City, Silver Star may be the one guests talk about most. Set at the base of Park City Mountain Resort, Silver Star operates less like a condo complex and more like a private alpine village. The Silver Star chairlift is located right on property, giving immediate guests ski-in, ski-out access. No shuttle. No tram. No five-minute boot walk.

The amenities read like a resort brochure: a heated swimming pool and hot tub, fitness center, firepits, private ski storage, and the Silver Star Ski & Sport rental shop. The award-winning Silver Star Cafe features live music and an apres-ski energy that draws as many locals as guests. Front desk service ties it all together.

For homeowners, Silver Star’s community-managed amenity infrastructure is a significant rental driver—and Natural Retreats serves as the on-site management company at Silver Star. What does this mean? Property owners benefit from both the brand’s national reach and a local team that is on-hand every day.

极速168赛车官方网站图片

Kings Crown: Mountainside Luxury with a Private Edge

Situated directly on Park City Mountain Resort, Kings Crown delivers something most ski communities can’t: A dedicated tower and private ski lounge that serves only community residents. This isn’t shared slope access. It’s an exclusive pathway down the mountain—and it shows in the caliber of guests who seek it out.

Year-round, Kings Crown holds its appeal. Summer hikers and mountain bikers have trail access steps from their doors, with Main Street and Park City’s free transit a short walk away. For homeowners who want both exceptional ski-season revenue and strong shoulder-season occupancy, the mountain setting pairs with warm-weather amenities to create a compelling two-season story.

Deer Valley: Empire Pass, Silver Lake, Snow Park, and Deer Crest

Deer Valley operates under a simple principle: everything is elevated—from Immaculate grooming to a legendary ski patrol to mountain dining. Natural Retreats manages a diverse portfolio across Deer Valley’s multiple base areas—each suited to the tastes of various guests and homeowners.

Deer Crest is the crown jewel for those who value true privacy, as it features ultra-luxury estates along private ski runs within a gated community—many with sweeping views of Lake Jordanelle. Empire Pass and Silver Lake draw guests who want European-style ski-in access with game rooms, private hot tubs, and runs suited for families. Snow Park brings guests closer to the resort base with a more relaxed pace and panoramic mountain views.

For homeowners across the Deer Valley portfolio, one point is consistent: Deer Valley’s reputation does much of the marketing itself. Natural Retreats does the rest—from revenue management to on-the-ground guest services that protect the asset and build return-guest loyalty.

The Colony: Private, Unmatched Sylvan Setting

For guests who want to disappear into the mountains, The Colony is the answer. A private gated community with expansive chalets on secluded, wooded lots, The Colony offers ski access directly from the property without the bustle of a resort base area. It’s a rare kind of quiet that’s increasingly hard to find in a market that has grown as fast as Park City.

Canyons Village: Expansive Resort Living with Year-Round Energy

Canyons Village is one of the fastest growing and most versatile areas within Park City Mountain Resort. What sets it apart?  The full-scale resort experience that’s draws both guests and homeowners.

Centered around a lively base area, the village delivers immediate ski access, a growing collection of restaurants and après-ski options, and summer amenities including golf, concerts, and outdoor events. The layout allows guests to move easily between lodging, dining, and the mountain, creating a seamless resort experience year-round.

For homeowners, Canyons Village offers strong rental appeal driven by accessibility, amenities, and consistent demand through the seasons. Positioned adjacent to The Colony, it provides a balance of energy and convenience with proximity to one of Park City’s most private residential enclaves.

极速168赛车官方网站图片

Where We’re Growing: The Jordanelle Corridor

Park City’s next chapter is being written along the Jordanelle Reservoir—and Natural Retreats is positioning ahead of that curve.

The centerpiece of this growth is Deer Valley’s East Village, one of the most ambitious ski resort expansions in North America. As the development matures, the communities surrounding it are attracting a new generation of luxury buyers and investors who understand that getting in early means getting in right.

Mayflower Lakeside sits at an intersection of mountain and water, offering a lifestyle that’s genuinely unique in the Park City market. Residents and guests have Deer Valley ski access on one side and the recreational expanse of Jordanelle Reservoir on the other. Here they can enjoy the full-spectrum of mountain life—from paddleboarding and fishing in summer to snowmobiling and Nordic activities in winter. It’s a year-round story that most mountain communities simply can’t tell.

The surrounding communities of Mayflower Lakeside and developments such as Klaim are drawing buyers who want the proximity and the lifestyle without the price premium of being inside the resort gates. These neighborhoods are newer, the inventory fresh, and the rental track records just being written. For homeowners considering a property in this corridor, the window to establish a strong occupancy history and long-term guest loyalty is right now.

Natural Retreats is actively establishing its presence here. If you own a home in the Jordanelle area or are evaluating a purchase, we’d welcome a conversation about what professional management can do for your investment from day one.

Local Teams. National Support.

What sets Natural Retreats apart? Our dedicated team of year-round locals who offer our guests boutique-level service, ensuring them the vacation of a lifetime. We extend the same level of services to each of our homeowners, who can rest assured that their property is cared for at every level. These local teams enjoy the robust backing of our national teams, which include in-house Marketing, Accounting, Guest Experiences, and Revenue Management. Whether you’re looking to maximize revenue from season to season or elevate the level of maintenance and attention your home receives, we are here for you.

Family decisions about assisted living and memory care communities can be complicated affairs. Processing feelings, searching for facts, and becoming aware of truths takes time and requires digging deep. Perhaps that’s why it’s good to hear new residents say — once the decision’s been made and they’ve settled into a community — they wish they’d “done it sooner.” For residents and their families, it’s a comfort to realize that their decision has brought genuine peace of mind: their loved one is safe and content, and the family can rest easy.

The Ridge Cottonwood is a prime example. As it becomes clear their loved ones may no longer be able to successfully live on their own, families find Cottonwood’s assisted living and memory care offers them a supportive, professional, thoroughly engaging community. And often their choice will be promptly confirmed by how their loved ones respond after move-in.

“They know our names. They treat us like we’re a family.” — Pat, Cottonwood resident

Their efforts contribute to the community’s warm connectedness — and are also reflected in Cottonwood being recognized with the 2024 Pinnacle Customer Experience award for excellence in dining and activities.

Park City is one of Utah’s rare gems that consistently upholds the highest ideals of art, living, recreation and aspiration. Quite a few highlights of this mountain-side city’s allure can be attributed to one man, Richard Jaffa, along with his family and their company.

The Jaffa family is rooted in generations of craftsmen and builders. Inspired by his father’s work in lumber and concrete, Richard developed an interest in the family craft as early as high school, when he worked as a construction-site cleaner. He quickly evolved his talents to become a distinguished general contractor. Richard’s son Scott joined the family trade to become an award-winning architect. After working in Washington D.C. for 8 years, he and his father joined forces in Park City and co-founded the Jaffa Group.

Their family business focuses on building one-of-a-kind dream homes for Park City’s most discerning clientele. You can see several of their finished projects all over the city, including homes that overlook Deer Valley Resort, historic Old Town, The Colony, Promontory and many other breathtaking landmarks.

极速168赛车官方网站图片

While Scott and Richard have their hands full, respectively being the CEO and Director of Operations, their main priority is always their clients. Richard and Scott work hand-in-hand on every project, and they are both involved from inception to completion. At their office, you can often hear them debate over balancing aesthetics, practicality, regulations and costs in order to achieve the vision their clients expect. As Richard puts it, “We won’t move forward on a decision until we both agree on the proper course of action, and that includes everything from the landscaping to the appliances.”

Their motivation to achieve perfection doesn’t just stop at the designing stage, either. Site procurement, materials, electrical, etc. are all gone over by two sets of Jaffa eyes, and they don’t settle for less than perfection. Scott is a firm believer that every architectural dream is achievable with enough time and effort. To put it in his own words, “I don’t look at catalogs. I imagine it and draw it. Sometimes when I go to order a custom piece, like a front door, they’ll ask if I can show them a photo of what I want and I tell them, ‘No, I don’t have a photo because it hasn’t been done before.’”

Aside from setting the bar on the highest rung for quality work, Jaffa Group, and Richard in particular, have also always been big believers in lifting others up and spreading the blessings around. As Richard likes to say, “You gotta help people up sometimes.” He’s carried that attitude his whole life, and the impact he has had on Park City is deeply felt and treasured.

极速168赛车官方网站图片

If you ask any of the Jaffa Group employees about their experiences working for the Jaffas, they’ll have glowing reviews and anecdotes. Debbie Kairys, Jaffa Group’s principal architect, has been working for Scott and Richard for 15 years, and she summarized her experiences:

“Scott and Richard have been unbelievable mentors over the years. Their experience, knowledge, and willingness to teach has made Jaffa Group an incredible opportunity not only for me, but all of their employees. Richard is always willing to make time to field any question you may have and help you understand not just the solution, but the process behind it. The creative freedom that Scott allows his team members to have and the direction he provides, brings out the best in us. [Their] guidance and support over the years has helped shape me into the designer I am today and helped me find my voice.”

The influence Richard has had doesn’t stop at just his employees or business, though. His good works also include joining the board of, and being a financial contributor to, the Peace House. Peace House started as a domestic abuse shelter that has grown into a safe haven with housing resources, education and support services. Richard also helped advocate and build a synagogue for the Jewish community, and he is a proud supporter of the National Association of Women in Construction. One of his favorite stories to tell is about a woman he hired in 1974 to be a bookkeeper for his business. There weren’t a lot of opportunities for women to get their foot into the building business back then, but with Richard’s support and mentoring she became an accomplished builder, met her husband when they were coworkers, started her own building company with him, and eventually had a son who remodeled the Lincoln Center. When she was hesitant to enter the field of building she told Richard that she didn’t know anything about the industry. His response was, “Do you live in a house? Well then you know about building.”

With that kind of attitude, determination and generosity, it’s no wonder Richard has built such a legacy that lives in people’s hearts and as monuments on the mountainside. However, his success has never changed who he is at his core. When I asked him what he was most proud of, out of all of his builds and accomplishments, he said, “My proudest accomplishment is to see the designs that my son has created in working together and how lucky I am to get the opportunity to partner with my son and work with my family every day.”

极速168赛车官方网站图片

If you are imagining what your life could be like in Park City, start a conversation with Richard and Scott by scheduling a time at jaffagroup.com. Their decades of expertise will ensure that your residence will be more than just a house; it will be a unique forever home, perfectly tailored to your lifestyle.

It’s officially the best time of year: The weather is cooling down, candles with pumpkin scents are appearing on shelves, and best of all, the Park City Area Showcase of Homes is back! For those uninitiated to this highly anticipated tradition, the Showcase of Homes is an open-house style tour of the most prestigious and expertly crafted homes along the Wasatch Back. The Presenting Sponsor this year is Sierra Pacific Windows, and they, along with the rest of our wonderful sponsors, help make each of these featured houses one-of-a-kind works of art.

The tour is open to anyone who wants to buy a ticket, but it’s an especially cool experience for those who are considering purchasing or building their own dream home near some of Utah’s most stunning mountains and natural views. The homes selected for the showcase have to meet a certain criteria for craftsmanship, style, design and for how seamlessly they fit into their surroundings and accentuate the beauty that’s already there. Their styles range from rustic mountain cabins with reclaimed rock fireplaces, to modern open concepts with floor-to-ceiling windows.

This year’s exhibition is also going to offer a brand new virtual Architectural and Design Showcase to all ticket holders. This program is an exciting new way to think about building homes. Instead of finding a plot of land and then searching out an architect to build on that plot, this program lets you pursue the best architects in the area and see their designs and style via virtual layouts and blueprints. When you find a style or designer that you love, you can work with them from the ground up to create your dream home.

The showcase is open for two extended weekends this year from August 23-25 and from August 30-September 2. If you’re wondering where to start your home tour journey, here are a few great ways to kick it off: Home number 1, built by Big Canyon Homes will be serving tacos on both Saturdays and Sundays. Home number 2, built by Branham & Co, is fully handicap and wheelchair accessible. Home number 5, built by Vitruvius Built, is offering an immersive experience with live music, golf cart transportation, curated artwork, mountain biking experts and a local chocolatier. And home number 9, built by Stonybrook Homes, is hosting a golf simulator closest-to-the-pin competition with weekly prize winners.

Tickets and more information can be found at pcshowcaseofhomes.com, and we hope to see you there!

Snowbasin is a world class resort with local spirit and unparalleled hospitality. As a new partner to the Epic Pass, they are thrilled to welcome pass holders with no reservations required to experience Snowbasin’s luxury day lodges, spectacular views and amazing terrain. Snowbasin is less than an hour from Park City and easily accessible with wide-open roads along the route.

Offering a world-class infrastructure, Snowbasin features one of the most advanced lift systems in Utah with two gondolas, a tram and three high-speed chairs with top-to-bottom skiing and riding of up to 3,000 vertical feet.

Snowbasin’s 3,000 acres provides access for all levels and abilities. From newly expanded beginner terrain to long intermediate runs that are pristinely groomed and legendary black diamonds for the expert skiers.

The resort also hosted the 2002 Winter Olympic skiing speed events including the Downhill, Super-G and Combined events. The Grizzly Downhill (Men’s Course) and Wildflower Downhill (Women’s Course) are still in place today for guests to ski and ride. The courses are known as some of the most challenging in the sport.

Since it’s nearly impossible to ski all 3,000 acres in one day, Snowbasin offers private lessons to help visitors navigate the mountain like a pro. Private lessons begin one hour before the general public has access to the mountain, and coaches help students navigate the best skiing Snowbasin has to offer. Both half-day and full-day private coaching sessions are available, with the option to bring up to four friends along.

A visit to Snowbasin is more than just skiing and riding. Guests can visit one of the many luxury day lodges to try the award-winning food. Eight different eateries around the mountain offer everything from grab-and-go items to a full-service lunch and après. The newest addition is The Overlook Bar at the top of Needles Lodge, with views from 8,700 feet above sea level.

Snowbasin provides access to expansive moments for those who seek to discover something new. The resort accepts the Epic Pass, the Epic Local pass, and Epic Day Passes of 4 or more days. To find out if a pass is accepted, visit snowbasin.com/epic. Right now, Snowbasin is offering their season passes for next winter at the lowest price available all year. As a bonus, anyone who purchases a pass for next year now will enjoy the rest of this season for free.
