As part of Summit County's Sustainability Plan and goal of promoting natural gas as an alternative fuel, a new compressed natural gas (CNG) refueling station had its grand opening ceremony Tuesday at Bell's Sinclair Station on Silver Creek Road.

The county has touted the station's proximity to two major highways, Interstate 80 and US-40, as an important benefit to not only those living in the area but for those traveling through the area.

Speaking at the grand opening ceremony were Summit County Council member Chris Robinson, Kim Hugie of CNG America, Questar Gas, Republic Waste Services, Robin Erickson of Utah Clean Cities and David and Alan Bell of Bell Oil Company.

Robinson said he was "pleased to have another CNG refueling station in Summit County and I applaud the efforts of the Bell family in helping this materialize," according to a release from the county.

Robin Erickson, Executive Director of Utah Clean Cities, said, "With the support of the Summit County fleet, and Republic Services, this site will be a great sustainable location," according to the release.

Those with CNG vehicles wishing to refuel at Silver Creek can now do so at the Bell's Sinclair Station, located at 7102 Silver Creek Road.
