It has been my supreme honor to have served these last 17 + years on the Summit County Council. I thank everyone for this great privilege and trust.
Much has changed, especially the amplified and omnipresent growth, congestion, climatic, environmental, cultural, political, social, affordability and economic stresses that we all face in our daily lives, businesses and professions, families and government.
Public service is a lot more challenging.
Here are four reasons why I’m supporting Christie Babalis for County Council District 4:
She has Great Judgment. I’ve learned that success isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about judgment. It’s about listening carefully, weighing competing interests, understanding long-term consequences, and making difficult decisions in the best interest of the community
She Knows How to Make Difficult Decisions. The council regularly faces complex issues where there are no perfect answers. Christie has spent her career evaluating risk, solving problems, negotiating solutions, and making decisions with significant consequences.
She’s Independent. We are worried about development, political factions, special interests, and state pressure, etc. I’ve never known Christie to be intimidated by pressure or persuaded by popularity. She studies the facts, asks tough questions, and reaches her own conclusions.
She Has a Track Record of Service. Long before running for office, Christie was serving through organizations like Recycle Utah, Image Reborn, Rotary, Leadership and Park City Ski and Snowboard Club.
