Parkite speed skier Lauren Macuga tore her right ACL in training on Friday morning in Copper Mountain, Colorado.
Macuga was preparing for the 2025-26 World Cup season, which she was set to begin shortly.
The 23 year old finished the 2024-25 season ranked fourth in the world in downhill and sixth in super-G.
Macuga was poised to make her Olympic debut in Milan this February with solid chances to medal in both of her events. She’ll recover and return next season.
“It’s me, I’m what’s broken,” she said on her Instagram. “RIP ACL. See you all next year.”
