The Park City Police Department in late July received a series of reports of moose sightings in neighborhoods, as wildlife cases continue through the middle of the summer.
The cases included:
• On Sunday, July 28, at 6:49 p.m., the police received information about a moose, described as injured, on Daystar Circle. There was also a calf moose at the location, the police were told.
• On Friday, July 26, at 9:17 p.m., a cow moose and a calf were seen in a front yard on Sun Ridge Drive. The older animal was described as injured and was “dragging her back left leg,” according to police logs.
• On Monday, July 22, at 5:24 p.m., a cow moose and a calf were reported on Sandstone Cove. The person who contacted the police indicated the animals were “living on their street,” according to public police logs.
• On July 22 at 1:24 p.m., a moose was reportedly seen in front of a Park Avenue building. The animal was not aggressive, the police were told.
On Tuesday, July 23, at 1:41 a.m., meanwhile, the police received information about a driver who swerved on Park Avenue to avoid colliding with a deer before hitting a curb. The vehicle was damaged.
The Police Department frequently receives wildlife-related reports, and moose sightings are regularly logged by the agency.
