Owner and operator of Fairweather Natural Foods for the past 30 years, Jen Rattray, recently decided it was time to “pass the baton.” With this decision, the shop off Iron Horse Drive was acquired by Good Earth Markets.
Good Earth Markets is a Utah-owned and based natural foods and supplements store which has been operating since 1973. With locations in American Fork, Layton, Orem, Riverdale, Sandy and Spanish Fork, their decision to add Park City brings the Wasatch Back into the fold.
The cafe will continue to operate as the Fairweather Cafe, continuing the current menu, and the purchase will initiate a renovation and expansion of the space. Some of the improvements include:
- New flooring, paint, finishes, signage and bathrooms
- Tripled square footage, now 4,000 square feet
- $0.25 per gallon reverse osmosis water, $0.50 per gallon alkaline water (bring/buy your own container)
- 100% organic produce
- New menu items at Fairweather Cafe coming soon
- Expanded hours coming soon (to be open later, until 7 p.m. Monday-Saturday, current hours remain for Sunday)
Owner of Good Earth Markets Todd Humphrey said in a prepared statement, “This change for Fairweather allowed us to seamlessly take that torch and significantly expand what was here. Now downtown Park City gets a truly local natural foods and supplements experience, while we get the privilege of joining the Park City community and continuing our mission of locals helping locals. Just couldn’t be better.”
“Good Earth Markets, being a Utah business with extensive experience and a solid reputation in Natural Foods, it feels like a good decision. I can feel good about the legacy of Fairweather, but I also feel that Good Earth will be keeping the spirit alive, and actually be able to provide more offerings to the community then I could have as a sole provider,” said Rattray about her decision.
