The Miners girls soccer team vanquished the Cedar Reds 3-1 Tuesday afternoon, propelling themselves into the quarterfinals of state. In the next round awaits the Snow Canyon Warriors, who upset Desert Hills this afternoon to advance from the second round. The game will be Thursday at 4 p.m., also at home, once again for Park City, with the winner advancing to the 4A semifinals at Zions Bank Stadium next Monday. Miners Head Coach Anthony DiCicco stressed the importance of self-improvement moving forward into Thursday and beyond, saying “this is about us challenging ourselves to continue to get better. Teams that win tournaments get better as tournaments go on.”
